Registration & authority
- USDOT number (FMCSA)
- Georgia intrastate authority through the Department of Public Safety (DPS) if hauling for hire
- Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) if operating interstate
- Georgia LLC via Secretary of State + EIN + county business license
Licensing
- Georgia Class A or B CDL via Department of Driver Services
- DOT medical examiner's certificate on file
- Clearinghouse registration + drug & alcohol testing consortium
Insurance
- Primary liability filed with Georgia DPS for intrastate for-hire carriers
- Physical damage coverage on financed trucks (lender requirement)
- General liability + workers' comp as required by GC contracts
- Keep certificates of insurance ready to send same-day
